Art Process

The first thing I do is sketch the body and pose, as usual. I don't usually spend much time on the sketch, and once it's ready, I practically give the drawing all the personality I want with the line art, until it's clean and how I want it.

The second thing is the palette and coloring. I usually choose opaque colors so I can saturate them later, but other times I directly use a colorful palette. It goes without saying that this part is essential when designing a character in my opinion, since it's not just about coloring it, but about giving it personality with its outlines and designs, as in this case with its yellow spots on the fur.

Then I go directly to playing with the saturation of the color palette, and at the same time try out colors for the shadow and testing modes for the shadow layer; I can use 2 layers or even more for the shadow.

And this is the most entertaining part in my opinion, and sometimes even exhausting because here I start adding the light, saturating it and using several layers of light with different layer modes in each one to achieve the effect I want, and when I finally have the effect I want, I start making more layers directly from the canvas, to add filters, blur effects, or even pixelated effects! even adding canvases and painting over the drawing, something like rendering the details.
